SARD Systems Updates – What You Need to Know

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting users of SARD systems, we’re making visual updates to systems, including Appraisals, Job Plans, Multi-Source Feedback (MSF/360), and eRostering. These changes, being rolled out gradually over the next year, aim to improve your experience, ensure accessibility, and create a consistent, user-friendly design across all platforms.

Here’s a closer look at what you can expect:

A Fresh, Modern Look

We’re giving the systems a much-needed design refresh to enhance usability. The interface will have a lighter, simplified site with reduced colour saturation, making key features and buttons easier to locate. By decluttering pages and prioritising clarity, we aim to create a more intuitive experience for users navigating these essential tools.

Consistency Across Systems

Currently, each system has a different structure, which can create challenges for staff who use multiple platforms. To address this, we’re standardising the design and navigation, ensuring that all SARD-supported systems feel cohesive and familiar. This consistency will save you time and reduce frustration, allowing you to focus on what matters most—providing excellent patient care.

Prioritising Accessibility

We understand the importance of making our systems accessible to everyone. As part of this update, we’re implementing features to better support those who are colorblind and/or rely on screen readers. These improvements will ensure that every NHS staff member can confidently and efficiently use our platforms.

Continuous Improvement Through Feedback

Your experience is at the heart of these updates. When we see an increase in support queries about a particular issue, our tech team prioritises resolving it and enhancing usability. This collaborative approach ensures we’re always improving based on your needs.

A Commitment to Ongoing Progress

We know there’s always room for improvement. While these updates mark a significant step forward, we remain dedicated to refining the systems further. By listening to your feedback and monitoring how the changes impact your experience as well as focussing on User Experience best practices, we aim to make every interaction with SARD systems smoother and more efficient.

When Will You See These Changes?

These updates will be rolled out incrementally over the next year to minimise disruption and give users time to adapt. We’ll keep you informed at every step, so you know exactly when to expect changes to your favourite tools.

What Does This Mean for You?

Our number one goal is to provide a more consistent and accessible user experience for all users. Whether you’re managing Appraisals, creating Job Plans, or scheduling shifts, we hope these changes make your day-to-day interactions with SARD systems simpler and more efficient.

We know that many admins invest valuable time in creating custom training materials for their teams. With these upcoming changes, it may be best to hold off on producing new guides until the updates are fully in place. This will help ensure your resources stay accurate and relevant, saving you from the frustration of having to revise materials shortly after creating them. We’ll keep you informed with timelines and guidance so you can plan your training efforts efficiently.

If you have questions or feedback about these updates, please don’t hesitate to contact Megan, SARD Customer Service Director.

Stay tuned for more updates as we work to deliver systems that work for you.
